Designing the digipak

Above are some examples of the different stages I went through to create the final front cover of the digipak , the second from bottom is the final thing , below are the back cover and the middle page . the far left is an example of the studio photos I took before editing the cover in photoshop.

I tried to involve themes which we will be suing in our video , especially as we have changed the bands image into a more futuristic , aggressive and fashionable image.

This is the quick plan we made for the digipak , after watching a presentation on the idea of using classical art and reproducing these classical paintings into a modern style to be ironic or for a contrasting purpose .

Designated roles

We have begun discussing the roles and jobs needed on the day of the shoot , thinking about who will take these designated roles and which would benefit us and work to our strengths . Below are the main jobs for the day and what they consist of .

• Director-directing shot type and scene
• Cinematographer- changes lenses , framing , shot type
• Sound Engineer-playback
• Producer-schedule , health and safety , working together .
• Director of arts and props - changing in the props , handing them to actors , costume and outfit , make up .

Group discussion on ideas for scenes .

Weve come to realise that our video will need to include very obscure and different scenes . We came together and came up with a few ideas .

•A panning shot showing two guys pushing each other , giving off an aggressive and hostile feeling to the audience , this contrasts with the casualness of the guy who walks towards the hut , he looks to the right and so does the camera .

•Secondly we thought of a scene , a while after the girl comes out and begins to dance and sing , to the right of her we quickly change shot to show someone painting her on an artists easel with a graffiti pen . The person is painting quickly and very carelessly .

•Another idea was one of the guys sitting down as she dances pulls out a very realistic BB gun , loads it aims it at her but nothing comes out . This would be a very quick shot and the camera would pan sideways to show the other guy on the sofa pouring 'alchohol' onto the food they are making . 

Of course these are only a few ideas we sources but we finalized these and agreed upon them . 

Going to see our location

Yesterday we went to Leath hill and 'the green escape', we loved the location and the huts they had available were perfect for our setup . Below are photos of the different huts , the bottom images are the one we chose . 

Research into our Set design

I began drawing up quick sketches of what I imagine the set too look like on shoot day , the first photo below is a birds eye view of the hut and the set up around it , on the day we would obviously add as many props as possible to create the idea that these people live and base themselves at this hut. The second sketch is a frontal view (again I didn't include minor details).Eventually I plan to draw out a full set design , including minor props , we've also developed the set to possibly have a tarpaulin connected to the hut , leading outwards . The final sketches should be an accurate representation of what it will look like on shoot day , helping us lay out our props quickly .

Research into location

We found a location nearby to the school which looks suitable for the video . 'The green escape' company rent little shepherd huts for nights at a time , they are based in the surrey hills (very close to school). We are taking a trip this week to view the area up close . The websites images make it look as if there is space to create a film set and room for filming .

Animatic

Here is our animatic , a basic idea of our original shots , from this point the video will develop and strengthen , which will in the end differentiate a lot from the original animatic.
