Anna - short preview
Over recent lessons we began editing the shots of our thriller title sequence . We began with the standard 'rush' and 'log' bins . All shots went into the rush bin and we looked through all to name them based on there importance. The names involved what they were of , the type of shot and whether they were good to use e.g 'ecu /wood chopping / good shot'.
The editing began when we chose our first shots for editing , selecting them and deciding where to cut and start , by pressing "I" to start the cut and "O" to finish. This wasnt the hard part , we had to use this in a way in which continuity wasnt a problem and that the clip had to flow well . We came to some issues which were soon fixed.
We encountered an issue with the camera shaking for extreme close up's , to overcome this problem we took freeze frames of the shot and then placed the clip behind it , too make it longer without the camera shaking.
Another example is when our camera could be seen in a few of the shots we had , creating continuity errors , and shots that we couldnt use. One issue was that of the group disagreeing on ideas ,one member wanted to include a fast paced montage of shots , we came to an agreement over this soon enough.
Other than these minor issues , the editing is going well , by the end of this new week we should have finished , weve edited most of it , now we go into minor details , along with research for music , personally i dont see the need for music , i believe a lack of music is what will create tension and suspense in our thriller .
